Terms of Use

1. Who we are

Tap2Color is a coloring app for iPad made by Jun Yuasa, an individual developer in Japan ("we", "us"). By downloading Tap2Color, by subscribing, or by joining the Community, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

The app has no sign-up, no password and no account with us. The Apple Account signed in on your iPad is who you are in the app.

Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app. Where these terms say more, these terms apply between you and us. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content.

2. The artwork and your coloring

  • Everything in the app is ours: the artwork pages, and everything made with the app's tools, including your colorings of the pages and any swatches, gradients or patterns you make. All rights are reserved to us.
  • Your subscription pays for one thing: the right to color in the app for your own personal entertainment and to take part in the Community. It gives you no ownership of the artwork, of your colorings or of your swatches, and no right to sell or license any of them.
  • Your coloring progress stays on your iPad. We cannot see it.
  • You may export your colored pages as pictures and keep them, print them and share them, including on social media, for your personal enjoyment only.
  • No commercial use of any kind. You may not sell or license your colored pages or the artwork, as prints, merchandise, stickers or in any other form, and you may not use them in any product of your own, digital or physical.
  • You may not use the artwork or your colored pages, in any form, to train, fine-tune or evaluate an AI or machine-learning model, and you may not let anyone else do so.
  • You may not resell, redistribute or hand on the uncolored artwork pages themselves, in any form, as pages for other people to color.
  • We may fix or improve an artwork page in a later update. Pages you have already colored are never changed by an update.

3. The subscription

Tap2Color has one subscription plan: monthly. The price is the one shown in the app and on the App Store at the time of purchase.

  • Free trial. A new subscription starts with 3 free days. The subscription begins immediately, but you are not billed until the 3 days end. Apple allows one free trial per person. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you pay nothing.
  • What the subscription unlocks. Premium gradients and patterns, the Gradient Maker and the Pattern Maker, up to 100 variations of every artwork, and the Community: joining, posting, liking, following and collecting swatches.
  • Without a subscription. You can color every artwork with solid colors, keep up to 3 variations of each artwork, export your pages, and look around the Community, report and block. Nothing you made is ever taken away.
  • Billing. Apple bills the Apple Account you buy with, through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
  • Renewal. The subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel.
  • Cancelling. On your iPad, open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap Tap2Color, then tap Cancel Subscription. You keep everything until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Refunds. Apple handles all refunds, because Apple takes the payment. To ask for one, sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose "Request a refund", choose the reason, choose Tap2Color and submit. Apple decides and answers within about 24 to 48 hours.
  • Price changes. If we change the price, Apple tells you before the new price is charged, and for some changes Apple asks for your agreement first.
  • Offer codes. We may hand out Apple offer codes that give the subscription free or at a discount for a limited time. A code is a gift with its own conditions and can be redeemed only while the app is on the App Store.
  • Restoring. If you reinstall the app or change iPads, tap Restore Purchases on the subscription page with the same Apple Account.

When a subscription ends. Your Community profile, your community name, your avatar, your posts, your collected swatches and your notifications all stay, and you can still like and follow. Posting and collecting swatches wait until you subscribe again. In the coloring pages, premium gradients and patterns are locked; everything you colored stays exactly as it is. If your free trial ended without a paid subscription, your temporary community name stays until you subscribe.

4. The Community

The Community is a public gallery of colored pages. Joining needs a running subscription (paid or on the free trial).

Your community name. A paying member chooses their own name: 3 to 15 characters, letters A to Z and numbers 0 to 9 only. Names must be unique and cannot contain blocked words or reserved names. During the free trial, the app gives you a temporary name ("NewUser" and a number); you choose your own the day your trial turns into a paid subscription. A name can be changed once every 30 days. If a name breaks the rules, we may replace it with a temporary one and ask you to choose a new one.

Posting. You may post up to 3 colored pages a day, each colored at least 90 percent. A post shows your picture, the swatches you used, your community name and your avatar. There are no captions or comments. Once posted, a page can be removed by you but not edited.

Swatches. Other members may collect the swatches used in your post into their own iPad and color with them. That is what the Community is for. Collecting a swatch never copies your picture.

What is not allowed. Offensive or misleading community names, including a name that spreads hate or an offensive word directly or indirectly (spelled with numbers, split, hidden inside other letters, or read in another language); impersonating someone; hate symbols or offensive words or shapes made in a page in any way, whether by the colors chosen, by patterns or gradients, or by how areas are filled; unfinished pages; spam; and anything else that breaks Apple's App Store rules or the law.

Our right to act. We decide what keeps the Community and the app safe. We may remove any post, replace any community name, pause or close any member's Community access, at any time and without prior notice, when we judge it appropriate for the safety of the Community and the app, whether or not the case is listed above. The strikes below are how this usually happens; they are not a limit on it.

Reports. Any member can report a post or a member for one of six reasons. A real person reads every report. A reported post is hidden from the reporter's own feed at once; a post reported by five different members is hidden from everyone until it is reviewed. Reports made in bad faith count against the reporter.

Strikes. When we confirm that a post broke the rules, the post is removed and you get a strike with the reason. One strike is a warning. Two strikes pause your Community for 7 days: you can browse, but not post, like, follow or collect. Three strikes close your Community access for good; you can still browse and keep coloring. We may close access at once for anything serious enough.

Blocking. You can block any member. Neither of you sees the other's posts or profile, nobody is told, and you can unblock at any time.

Deleting your profile. In Edit Profile, "Delete My Community Profile" removes your profile, posts, likes, collected-swatch records and follows from the Community at once. It cannot be undone. Your name is held so nobody else can take it. If you join again, you choose a new name and start with an empty profile. Your Gallery, your collected swatches on your iPad and your backups are not affected.

5. Age

The Community is for people aged 13 and up. By joining, you confirm that you are at least 13.

6. Notifications

Lock-screen notifications are optional and off until you turn them on in Settings. You can turn each kind off at any time.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when. If a change matters, the app tells you once.
